ROC TD NIGHT SHELTER PROJECT
After last year’s successful trial, we are planning to support the Taunton Deane SWEP (Severe Weather Emergency Provision) by launching the ROC TD Night Shelter.
The Night Shelter, which will be hosted by the Salvation Army and Canon Street Pentecostal Church, will be a “pop-up” provision, offering overnight shelter for rough sleepers in the Taunton Deane area, in the event of severe weather.
The aim:
- To provide a safe, warm environment for rough sleepers on nights of extreme weather
- To build positive relationships with rough sleepers, and to recognise their value and worth
- To empower rough sleepers to engage in community life
- To act as a potential ‘hub’ for other agency involvement with rough sleepers
